Vacancy Description:

This busy and reputable and expanding asbestos company that provides broad range of professional and quality asbestos and environmental services to clients from all levels presently seeking for a high calibre Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their laboratory department in Central Belt of Scotland and will include applications Glasgow, Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.


Qualifications & Experience:

The individual must possess the P401 qualification, although holding the P403 would be beneficial and at the same time must have significant experience working within this role, in a laboratory/office environment and within the asbestos industry.

Must have good communication skills both written and verbal.

Must be competent in using the Microsoft Office Package.


Purpose of the Role:

To analyze and report on the fibre content of both of samples submitted by clients/customers



Key Role:

Receiving and preparing samples from site.

Carrying out analysis of asbestos materials, etc., entering the results in LIMS and generating accurate data in line with standards - UKAS.

Maintaining and developing UKAS accreditation systems.

Maintaining and assisting quality control and data in an appropriate and accurate way and complying with the company's quality systems.

Ensuring that all analytical equipment used are kept clean and up to date.

Assisting and maintaining the company's the Quality Control system, etc.

Liaising with clients and managers as and when required - dealing with issues effectively and appropriately.

Solving problems pertaining to laboratory tests and making sure that the samples are stored appropriately or returned to the right place.

Complying with the Health & Safety procedures.

Getting involved with any other laboratory duties as and when required.
