Vacancy Description:

This well established asbestos and environmental consultancy provides a specialist and professional services to a large portfolio of clients across the UK, including Commercial and Blue Chip companies. Due to business requirements, they are actively seeking to employ a strong commercially minded Asbestos Quantity Surveyor to work for them in the Midlands area, but be prepared to travel extensively across the UK. Applications will be considered from any of these areas, North West, south West and the Midlands.

Must have experience from either Construction, Asbestos Removal, Demolition or Contracting background.
Excellent Communication skills - both written and verbal when dealing with all levels of staff/contractors/clients.
Experience in Commissioning of Task Orders.
Familiarise yourself with current contracted works on a daily basis.
Pre and post tender management
Ensure sites have sufficient labour, plant and materials.
Site audits.

Role and Responsibilities:
Attend and report at meetings - e.g. pre-start, progress and performances.
Site visits - check access, site condition, take measurements, photos and report back to the estimator.
Prepare - accurate valuations, tenders for subcontract elements and cost to value statements/reconciliations.
Send out enquiries provided by the estimator to suppliers and sub-contractors.
Take off quantities from drawings/site measurements.
Compile and send out Subcontract Orders.
Agree K.P.I.s for the job in hand.
Maintain and update commercial files on site, provide advice on contractual documents as and when required.
Update the asbestos repair spreadsheet with site measures after their survey,
Deal with the asbestos removals spreadsheet, agree the actual measures and variations accordingly.
Monitor and analyse costs against budget and liaise with the Clients to agree variations.
Negotiate final accounts and agreements.
Process monthly applications for payment and final accounts.
Arrange for disposal of hazardous waste.
