Our client is known within the asbestos industry for providing excellent quality consultancy and analytical services to a diverse client base. They are currently looking for an experienced, qualified and engaging Asbestos Lab Analyst based in the Birmingham area. The ideal candidate will hold the P401 asbestos certificate and will come from a similar asbestos industry carrying out bulk analysis of asbestos samples. Consideration will be given to applications from Dudley, Solihull, Tamworth, Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas.

Qualifications & Essential Experience:

Must hold the P401 asbestos qualification.
Must have valid and varied experience working within a laboratory/asbestos environment.
Previous experience in carrying out analysis on soil samples will be advantageous.
Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Must have proficient IT skills – including Microsoft Office Package.
Must be fully conversant of the Health & Safety procedures.
Must have excellent organizational skills.

Key responsibilities:

Receiving and preparing asbestos bulk samples for analysis.
Carrying out bulk analysis of asbestos materials, etc., entering the results in LIMS and generating accurate data in line with UKAS standards.
Maintaining and assisting quality control and data in an appropriate and accurate way and complying with the company’s quality systems.
Ensuring that all analytical equipment used are kept clean and up to date..
Liaising with clients and managers as and when required – dealing with issues effectively and appropriately.
Solving problems pertaining to laboratory tests and making sure that the samples are stored appropriately or returned to the right place.
Ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety procedures.
Carrying out any other laboratory duties as and when required.
