Job Description

Due to continued success, our client an established asbestos company is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their laboratory/team in and around the Cambridge area. The ideal candidate will hold the P401 certificate and will be experienced in carrying out bulk analysis on asbestos samples. Applications from Bury St. Edmunds, Bishops Stortford, Ely, St Neots and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Qualifications & Experience:

Ideally the individual must possess the P401 certificate.
Experience working in a laboratory/office role in the asbestos industry.
Possess good communication skills both written and verbal.
Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
A science degree/HNC or equivalent would be beneficial.
The ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
Good attention to detail.

Duties within the role:

Receive and appropriately log samples from site.
Prepare, analyse and record results of samples.
Maintain data in an appropriate and accurate way complying with the company’s quality systems.
Making sure all analytical equipment used is kept sterile and in a good working condition.
Liaising with clients and company staff on a regular basis.
Ensure safety of yourself and colleagues at all times by ensuring work areas are kept clean and clutter free.
Complying with the Health & Safety procedures.
Getting involved with any other laboratory duties as and when required.
