This highly successful and fast growing client based asbestos consultancy is actively seeking for a self-driven, enthusiastic and commercially focused Asbestos Operations Manager based London and will include applications from London, Surrey, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent and the surrounding areas.

Qualifications and Experience:

Ideally, the applicant must possess the P402/P403/P404 certificates or the equivalent RSPH or the S301/CCP qualification must have significant experience working within this role and within the asbestos industry.

The individual must come from a strong technical, office, management, sales, accounts consultancy and operational background and within the asbestos industry.

Must have excellent communication, client-facing, organisational, presentational, leadership and people management skills.

Must be fully conversant with the asbestos industry and the Health & Safety procedures.

Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office – Excel and Word.

Principal Role:

Managing a team of surveyors/analysts as well as ensuring the UKAS accreditation is maintained.

Participating in and training and mentoring the staff/team.

Liaising with clients/customers or the general public in a professional manner.

Complying with all quality and technical procedures with regards to asbestos.

Attending sites and carrying out audits and reporting analytical findings and producing accurate asbestos reports.

Updating databases, producing management plans, quotations.

Running the operations side of the business – office, site staff and clients on a daily basis.

Overseeing administrative staff and ensuring contract operations are coordinated with clients and are carried out effectively in accordance with site operations and company procedures.

Dealing with invoices, maintaining personnel records – using the Database – spreadsheets, etc.

Managing staff on site and ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the Health and Safety procedures.

Producing method statements, risk assessment and associated site paperwork.

Assisting with tenders and quotations.

Developing and training the team and managing the office – getting involved with appraisals and other issues.

Getting involved with audits – improving quality and achieving satisfaction from clients/customers and staff.

Ensuring that projects are completed within time scale.

Managing existing and new portfolio of contracts effectively.

Establishing and maintaining good relationship with the company’s large portfolio of clients.

Developing new business leads and taking the business to the next step.
