Job Description

Our client is a fast growing, multi-disciplined Environmental company that offers a wide range of professional services to a cross section of clients across the UK. Their services include Asbestos, Legionella, Environmental and other compliances. Due to current state and business requirement, they are now looking for a home based Fire Risk Assessor based in the Colchester area and will include applications from Chelmsford, Ipswich, Clacton on Sea, Braintree and the surrounding areas. This role will entail travelling extensively.

Qualifications & Experience:

Ideally, the applicant must hold the NEBOSH Fire Certificate or NEBOSH Fire Conversion – Technician status with recognized bodies – IFSM/IFPO/IFE would be preferred.

Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.

Must have good formal education and come from a consultancy background.

Must have good organizational, people management and client facing skills.

Must be well versed with the Health & Safety procedures and legislation.

Must have significant experience working within the Fire Risk Consultancy industry.

Visiting various Commercial and Industrial sites.

Must have a thorough understanding of the Fire Safety procedures and compliances.

Key Role:

Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments and Health & Safety Risk Assessments in various industry sectors – commercial, industrial and residential and taking action accordingly.

Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with the current Health & Safety legislation.

Collating and producing accurate reports.

Providing information and advice to clients and staff pertaining to Fire Safety regulations and following procedures.

Building and maintaining a good rapport with the Health and Safety authorities as and when required.

Dealing with issues or problems appropriately and effectively.

Fire plan drawings, fire drills, fire warden, use of extinguishers, real fire training, briefings and delivering training courses, manuals, etc.

Delivering presentations – training.

The successful post holder will be of smart disposition, committed, versatile, methodical and flexible and have the acumen to work effectively and independently.
