Our client is well-established and fast growing asbestos and environmental consultancy and offers a comprehensive range of asbestos, occupational hygiene and other environmental testing services to a mixed portfolio of clients.
Due to current business requirement, they are actively seeking for a self-motivated, committed and focused Occupational Hygienist based in the North East Region. Applications from Durham, Newcastle, Morpeth and the surrounfing areas will be taken into consideration.
Ideally, the applicant will be qualified and experienced Occupational Hygienist- holding BIOH/IOA or equivalent qualifications with consultancy experience.
Must hold the qualification in general Health and Safety (eg – NEBOSH Certificate) and any other qualifications relating to the role.
Must come from a good educational and technical background.
Must have excellent communication, organizational, client facing and people management skills.
Must proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
Must be well versed with the Health & Safety procedures.
The work will involve undertaking a wide range of occupational hygiene related projects such as workplace assessments – air monitoring, COSHH assessments, noise, fumes, dust and hand-arm vibration surveys, local exhaust ventilation (LEV) examination and testing and indoor air quality.
Site Assessments – Assessing Emission.
Collating the information to produce technical reports.
Building and maintaining a good rapport with clients.
Ensuring compliance to MCERTS standards.
Managing the accounts appropriately and effectively.
Attending meetings as and when required.
Visiting sites designated by the client.
Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety procedures and legislation.
Ideally, the post-holder will be of smart disposition, versatile, have good work ethic and at the same time carry out the work effectively.
Must be flexible with regards to travelling.
