Job Description
Our client is a well-regarded water hygiene company known for their outstanding provision of professional water treatment/hygiene and legionella advice and services. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and motivated Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team based in the Lincoln area. The successful candidate will have a strong technical water hygiene background and be experienced in carrying out water hygiene duties including cleaning and chlorination on hot and cold water systems, routine sampling and temperature monitoring. Previous experience in remedial plumbing will also be beneficial to this role. Consideration will be given to candidates from Scunthorpe, Newark-on-Trent, Mansfield, Worksop and the surrounding areas.
Experience, Education & Qualifications
The applicant must come from a good educational, chemical and technical background and must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
Will have hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must have proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office Package experience.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Carrying out disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, changing and replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
Monitoring client’s air and water systems and ensuring that they comply with the current Health and Safety legislation.
Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems and cooling towers.
Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
Interpreting the results and maintaining and installing dosing systems, etc.
Producing accurate reports and maintaining paperwork.
Building and maintaining a good rapport with the clients.
Carrying out plumbing work as and when required.
Overall the successful applicant will be commercially focused, flexible and reliable and have the ability to work independently and under pressure and must be prepared to travel to designated sites as per client’s requirement.
