Our client is a successful and thriving water company known for providing a range of high-quality water treatment/hygiene and legionella services to clients throughout the UK. The company are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Water Hygiene Engineer based in and around the South London area. They are looking for an individual from a strong water hygiene background, well-versed in carrying out routine water hygiene duties including cleaning and chlorination on hot and cold-water systems, temperature checks and water sampling. Applications from Croydon, Mitcham, Bromley, Dartford and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Experience & Qualifications:

The applicant must come from a good educational, chemical and technical background and must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
Will have hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient IT skills including competency using Microsoft Office Packages.

Duties within the Role:

Carrying out disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
Monitoring client’s air and water systems and ensuring that they comply with the current Health and Safety legislation.
Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems and cooling towers.
Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
Interpreting the results and maintaining and installing dosing systems, etc.
Producing and submitting accurate reports and paperwork.
Building and maintaining a good rapport with the clients.
Carrying out plumbing work as and when required.

Overall the successful applicant will be commercially focused, flexible and reliable and have the ability to work independently and under pressure and must be prepared to travel to designated sites as per client’s requirement.
