Job Description
A valuable opportunity to work within an established company within the water management industry, known for their provision of professional water treatment/hygiene and legionella services. They are now recruiting for an experienced, committed and skilled Water Hygiene/Legionella Technician based in and around the Bath area. The successful postholder will demonstrate their experience undertaking water hygiene duties such as TMV servicing, cleaning and disinfections in line with ACOP L8 guidelines. Consideration will be given to applications from Weston-super-Mare, Bridgwater, Glastonbury, Chippenham and the surrounding areas.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
Must come from a good educational, water hygiene/legionella background.
Must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
Previous hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
Previous experience undertaking remedial plumbing duties will be beneficial to this role.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient IT skills, including competency using MS Office.
Key duties:
Carrying out disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
Monitoring client’s air and water systems and ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
Carrying out TMV servicing.
Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems and cooling towers.
Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
Undertaking maintenance and installation of dosing systems.
Submitting accurate paperwork including reports.
Building and maintaining a professional working rapport with the clients.
Carrying out remedial plumbing work as and when required.
Overall the successful applicant will be hardworking with a good work ethic and an adaptable approach towards work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently to agreed timescales and must be prepared to travel to designated sites as per client’s requirements.
