Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Salary / Benefits £19k – £26k +Training +Benefits
Level of Experience: Trainee Asbestos Lab Analyst through to Lead Asbestos Lab Analyst

Profile: A rapidly growing and reputable Asbestos Consultancy is currently recruiting for a P401 qualified Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their friendly team. The candidate will be based within a commutable distance of Glasgow and able to demonstrate a good understanding of UKAS guidelines. Previous experience working within the asbestos lab is essential for the role as the successful candidate will be carrying out analysis of asbestos bulk samples, alongside ensuring all samples are sorted correctly and entered on to relevant databases.

Applications will be considered from: Penicuik, East Lothian, Cumbernauld, Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Coatbridge, East Kilbride, Kilmarnock.

Requirements:
” BOHS P401 qualification (Minimum)
” BOHS P403 (Desirable)
” Current / previous experience working within a UKAS accredited asbestos lab.
” Will have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.
” Proficient IT Skills.
” Excellent working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislations.

The Role:
” Receiving samples into the laboratory, ensuring they are logged and stored correctly.
” Preparing all asbestos samples and carrying out analysis using PLM and Stere Microscopy.
” Completion of analysis test sheets and reports.
” Ensuring all reports are completed and uploaded within agreed time frame with the client.
” Upon completion of analysis, ensuring to enter all findings and information to internal databases correctly.
” Ensuring work is being carried out in line with relevant Health and Safety guidelines.
” Carrying out cleaning tasks within the lab, ensuring to carry out safe working practices.
” Liaising with clients and mangers, building an excellent relationship and dealing with any issues efficiently.
