Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst
Location: Croydon, South East.
Salary / Benefits £20k – £27k +Training +Benefits
Level of Experience: Trainee Asbestos Lab Analyst through to Lead Asbestos Lab Analyst

Profile: An exciting new position within a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy has arisen. They are in the market to recruit an organised and keen BOHS P401 qualified Asbestos Lab Analyst, based in and around the Croydon area. The successful candidate will be supporting the business by delivering high quality laboratory services such as; undertaking the analysis of bulk samples, booking in samples, maintaining / updating the company’s database and producing certificates. Applications will be considered from: Bromley, Orpington, Sidcup, Mitcham, Bexleyheath, Dartford, Grays, Sevenoaks, Gravesend, Epsom.

Experience & Qualifications:
” At a minimum will hold the BOHS P401 qualification.
” Holding the P403 would be desirable but not essential.
” Experience working in a UKAS accredited lab as an Asbestos Analyst.
” A keen eye for detail and up to date knowledge of relevant Health and Safety guidelines.
” Ability to manage own workload.
” Experience working with stereomicroscopes / polarised light microscope.
” Will be IT literate and able to use a range of Microsoft packages.
” Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

The Role:
” Undertaking analysis of suspected ACMs in line with analytical and quality standards.
” Entering results and findings onto the company’s database, ensuring all information is accurate and in line with UKAS standards.
” Receiving samples into the lab and safely preparing for bulk samples.
” Maintaining and developing the UKAS accreditation system.
” Ensuring all analytical equipment used is kept clean and calibrated.
” Solving issues regarding laboratory tests, and ensuring samples are stored correctly and returned to the correct place.
” Ensuring all work complies with relevant Health and Safety guidelines.
” Making sure the laboratory is always kept tidy.
” Liaising with clients and managers as and when required – dealing with any issues efficiently.
