Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst / Co-Ordinator.
Location: Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear
Salary / Benefits £22k – £27k + Training + Benefits

Our client is a privately owned UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy based in the North East. They are now looking for an Asbestos Lab Analyst / Co-Ordinator to join their friendly team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience carrying out bulk sample analysis using PLM and stereo microscopy alongside updating internal systems with new jobs and assigning site staff to work once confirmed. Our client can offer the successful candidate further training, excellent salary, company pension and attractive holidays.

Consideration will be given to candidates from: North Shields, South Shields, Cramlington, Blyth, Bedlington, Wallsend, Hebburn, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Gateshead, Ashington, Morpeth.

Experience & Qualifications:
” Will hold the BOHS P401 qualification.
” Experience working for a UKAS accredited Asbestos consultancy working within the laboratory alongside carrying out administrative duties.
” Excellent time management skills.
” Able to communicate efficiently via email, phone call, and face-to-face.
” Keen eye for detail.
” Good knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislations.
The Role:
” Logging samples in a timely manner upon arrival to the laboratory.
” Preparing samples for analysis.
” Carrying out sample analysis using PLM and stereo microscopy.
” Correctly filling out analysis sheets upon completion of sample analysis.
” Checking reports and liaising with site staff to rectify any anomalies.
” Sending reports to clients in a timely manner.
” Issuing certificates of analysis.
” Ensuring equipment is correctly calibrated and the laboratory is clean.
” Ensuring work is carried out in line with agreed timeframe.
” Carrying out general administrative duties e.g., making and receiving phone calls, sending emails, filing, and scanning documents.
” Logging jobs onto internal systems and assigning work to site staff.
” Assisting in training new starters.
