Job Description

Our client is a versatile and multi-disciplined environmental consultancy specialising in a range of sectors including fire protection and fire risk. They are actively seeking an experienced, skilled and dedicated Fire Risk Assessor based in or around the London area. The successful candidate will hold a relevant fire safety certification such as NEBOSH Fire Certification or equivalent qualification and will be experienced in carrying out in-depth fire risk assessments on a range of contract and site types. Ideally the successful candidate will also hold third party accreditation. Consideration will be given to applications from Slough, Epsom, Watford, Woking and the surrounding areas.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

Must hold the NEBOSH Fire Certificate or NEBOSH Fire Conversion – Technician status with recognised bodies IFSM/IFPO/IFE/NAFRAR would be preferred.
Will come from a strong Fire/H&S Consultancy and technical background within the fire industry, having experience in other industries would be beneficial but not essential.
Must have an in- depth knowledge and experience of undertaking fire risk assessments on various properties, including commercial, industrial and public sectors.
Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must have proficient IT skills and be adept at using the Microsoft Office Package.
Will have a strong working knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and legislation.

Key responsibilities of the role:

Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments and Health & Safety Risk Assessments in various industry sectors, including commercial, industrial and residential.
Delivering presentations and training.
Supplying high level consultancy advice.
Providing Fire and Safety Guidance and investigating incidents.
Producing fire risk assessments reports and ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety Legislation with regards to fire.
Addressing any issues effectively and appropriately.
Liaising with clients and staff.
The successful post-holder will be competent in undertaking Fire Risk Assessments without supervision.
Must be prepared to travel extensively.

The successful post-holder has will hold valuable industry experience working within the fire risk sector as well as the initiative to work both independently and as part of an established team.
