Job Description

Due to consistent growth of the business, this expanding and well established company is actively seeking for a good calibre, flexible and multi-skilled Legionella Risk Assessor/Water Treat Engineer/Plumber to cover various contracts in or around the Glasgow area and will include applications from South Lanarkshire, East Kilbride and the surrounding areas.

Qualifications & Experience:

The applicant will ideally have attended an approved Risk Assessment course – City & Guilds and must have previous working knowledge of ACOP L8 and significant experience of carrying out L8 risk assessments within the water treatment/Water Hygiene industry – ideally from a Legionella Consultancy background.

Must have hands on experience on water treatment engineering, legionella risk assessing and plumbing.

Must also have good working knowledge of chemical treatment of cooling towers, steam boilers, etc.

Must have good working knowledge of commercial water systems, supplies and water regulations governing these.

Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.

Key Responsibilities & Aspects of the Role:

Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold water systems, tanks clean, chlorination, refurbishment & disinfections, etc.

Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analyzing water systems and interpreting the results.

Building a good rapport with the company’s mixed portfolio of clients.

Ensuring work is completed within time frame and dealing with issues effectively.

Carrying out any plumbing work as and when required.

Visiting various sites as per client’s requirement.

Carrying out Legionella risk assessments in line with ACOP L8 risk assessments.

Compiling schematic drawings, as well as producing final documents f or clients/customers.

Providing recommendations and prices for remedial works, routine control measures through maintenance regimes, quotations, and carrying out such works based on the risk assessment.

Carrying out monthly temperature testing and water sampling.

Carrying out survey of water systems and supplies as per ACOP L8.

Collating and producing comprehensive reports and attending meetings with clients to discuss findings of reports.
