Job Description

Our client is a leading water hygiene company who deliver professional water treatment/hygiene and legionella duties to a varied client base. This company are currently recruiting for an experienced and committed Water Hygiene Engineer based in and around the York area. The successful postholder will be experienced in carrying out water hygiene duties such as routine temperature monitoring, cleaning/chlorination on hot and cold water systems and TMV servicing. Previous experience in remedial plumbing will also be beneficial within this role. Consideration will be given to applications from Malton, Boroughbridge, Tadcaster and the surrounding areas.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

Must come from a good educational, water hygiene/legionella, chemical and technical background.
Must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
Previous hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
Previous experience undertaking remedial plumbing duties will be beneficial to this role.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient IT skills – including Microsoft Office.

Duties within the role:

Carrying out disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
Monitoring client’s air and water systems and ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
On-site analysis and dosing of closed systems.
Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems and cooling towers.
Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
Undertaking maintenance and installation of dosing systems.
Submitting accurate paperwork including reports.
Building and maintaining a good rapport with the clients.
Carrying out remedial plumbing work as and when required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate their excellent work ethic as well as an adaptable approach to work and must be prepared to travel to designated sites as per client’s requirements.
