Job Description

Due to a growing client base, a UKAS accredited asbestos & Health & Safety consultancy that provides various professional services to clients from all levels. Our client is currently seeking for an experienced, self-driven and committed Asbestos Health & Safety Consultant based in the Midlands through to the Home Counties, close to the M1/M40, including applications from the East and West Midlands, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire.

Qualifications & Experience:

Must possess the NEBOSH General certificates – IOSH and CMIOSH certificates – Health & Safety qualifications and at the same time must have substantial experience working within this role and within the industries involved. Holding the P402 certificate would be beneficial.

The individual must come from a strong Asbestos, Environmental, Removals, Consultancy, Health and Safety, Technical/Auditing, Fire & Safety, commercial and Management background.

Must have good formal education, although holding a degree would be beneficial.

Must have excellent communications, IT, auditing, management, organizational, communication, presentational, leadership and people management skills.

Key Role:

Attending the sites and undertaking various inspections relating to the Health & Safety performance of the team – office and sites.

Managing the Health and Safety & Environmental management systems.

Auditing asbestos contractors on site and producing comprehensive reports – Health & Safety and Environmental reports.

Getting involved with inductions and training.

Writing risk assessments – safe systems of work – reviews etc.

Managing the Health & Safety and Environmental staff.

Carrying Fire Risk assessments.

Getting involved with internal and external audits.

Dealing with all the company’s Health & Safety issues, etc., tenders, etc.

Attending meetings and liaising with teams, managers and clients/customers

Writing policy procedures and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures.

Getting involved with many other Health & Safety issues within the company and ensuring reports, etc. are updated.

Ensuring that Health & Safety procedures are followed and at the same time develop a positive approach towards company’s procedures.
