Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst
Location: Newcastle, Tyne and Wear
Salary / Benefits: £22k – £26k + Further Training

An established Asbestos Consultancy is currently recruiting for an experience P401 Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their North East Lab. Successful candidates will be analysing suspected ACM, logging results to internal databases and generating reports for clients. Applicants must hold the P401 and have experience working within a UKAS accredited asbestos lab. Opportunities for further training can be offered to those with the right attitude and desire to develop within the industry.

Applicants will be in commutable distance of the following areas: Newcastle upon Tyne, Hebburn, South Shields, North Shields, Whitely Bay, Seaton Sluice, Blyth, Ashington, Cramlington, Gateshead, Washington, Sunderland, Chester-Le-Street, Seaham, Consett, Durham, Houghton le Spring.

Experience / Qualifications:
” BOHS P401 (essential).
” BOHS P403 (desirable).
” Practical experience working in a UKAS accredited asbestos laboratory.
” Good understanding of HSG 248 regulations.
” Keen eye for detail.

Successful candidates will be undertaking a range of lab duties, including but not limited to:
” Undertaking the analysis of samples for the presence of asbestos to HSG guidelines.
” Working in accordance with UKAS quality standards.
” Collating results and entering on to internal databases.
” Formulation asbestos analysis reports.
” Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
” Participating in internal quality assurance analysis schemes and AIMS.
