Job Title: Asbestos Laboratory Support Administrator.
Location: Ilford, East London.
Salary / Benefits £22k – £26k + Training + Benefits

A multi-discipline and leading Environmental Consultancy are now seeking to employ an Asbestos Laboratory Support Administrator to join their South East office. This role would suit a candidate with experience working within an Asbestos Laboratory who is looking to take on an office-based role while providing support with the day to day running of the laboratory when required. For this role, the successful candidate will be checking and calibrating laboratory equipment, assisting in preparing for UKAS audits, approving analysis certificated (if P401 is held), alongside scheduling in asbestos staff to carry out work on Government, Retail and Commercial sites. For the successful candidate, our client can offer training into the BOHS P402 qualification to carry out quality checks on reports, alongside excellent holiday allowance and company pension.
Consideration will be given to candidates from: Romford, Hornchurch, Dagenham, Barking, Upminster, Rainham, Brentwood, Billericay, Basildon, Wickford, Chelmsford.

Experience & Qualifications:
” Holding the P401 would be beneficial for approving analysis certificates.
” Experience working for an established Asbestos Consultancy, within an office / laboratory setting would be essential.
” Will have excellent knowledge of HSG guidelines.
” Will have excellent IT skills.
” Excellent customer facing skills (telephone, email, face-to-face)
” Holding the P402 would be advantageous but not essential.

The Role:
” Undertaking laboratory equipment checks.
” Quality checking and calibrating equipment.
” Assisting in preparation for UKAS audits.
” Assisting in day to day running of the laboratory.
” Logging asbestos samples upon arrival to the laboratory.
” Entering analysis results accurately onto internal systems.
” Approving analysis certificates.
” Scheduling work to be carried out across Commercial, Retail, and Government sites for a team of established asbestos staff.
” Confirming work to be carried out, arranging accommodation where required.
” Liaising with clients, dealing with any issues efficiently.
” Providing day-to-day support to internal management.
” Liaising with asbestos staff to amend errors in reports prior to sending to clients.
” Ensuring all laboratory work is carried out in line with relevant HSG guidelines.
