Job Description
Our client provides a wide range of fire protection and prevention services to a mixed portfolio of clients and contracts. They are now recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Fire Stopping Engineer to join their team based in and around the Greater Manchester area. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience installing and inspecting fire stopping measures and working with passive fire protection services and procedures. Qualifications such as the NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection or the FIRAS qualification will also be advantageous to the role. Applications from Bolton, Rochdale, Stockport, Leigh and the surrounding areas will be considered.
Experience & Qualifications:
Will ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection or FIRAS qualification.
Will ideally hold relevant industry qualifications in fire prevention and fire door inspections.
Will have hands on experience carrying out fire stopping works to various properties, including commercial, industrial and public sectors.
Must have extensive experience inspecting and installing fire prevention systems, fire doors, alarms and extinguishers.
Must have a good working knowledge of Fire Risk and Health & Safety procedures.
Knowledgeable in all aspects of passive fire protection.
All applicants must have IPAF/PASMA certificate.
Full clean driving licence will be advantageous.
Strong communication skill – both written and verbal.
Proficient IT skills including MS Office competency.
Key duties of the postholder:
Undertaking Fire plan drawings, fire drills, fire warden, use of extinguishers, real fire training, briefings, delivering training courses, etc.
Installing fire stopping measures and systems such as fire doors, alarms, extinguishers as well as fire suppression systems.
Carrying out inspections of fire stopping measures and systems such as fire doors, alarms, extinguishers ect.
Delivering presentations and training to internal staff.
Developing and maintaining a varied portfolio of clients.
Liaising with clients in regards to preventative measures and providing quotes for works.
Addressing any issues which may arise effectively and appropriately.
Supporting and liaising with the Fire Safety Consultant with regards to consultancy work.
The successful post-holder will be well-versed in all aspects of passive fire protection and will demonstrate a positive and adaptable approach to their work.
